Christina Malkoun

Christina Malkoun is a freelance Photojournalist and Documentary Photographer. Currently living in Beirut, Lebanon. Working as the Art Director of ELLE Arab World magazine since 2006. Her personal work includes multimedia projects and documentaries focusing on human rights related issues. Over the past 3 years, she has been working with refugees across Lebanon. Christina received a BA in Moving Image and Typography, from Notre Dame University, Lebanon, in 2005. She also graduated in Multimedia from Foundry Photojournalism Workshop, Chiang Mai, Thailand, in 2012. She got nominated for the UNICEF Germany photo of the year 2012 competition. And in 2014, was selected to screen her short documentary on the Egyptian revolution at the Lebanese Film Festival in Beirut. She has worked on many assignments for the United Nations, such as IRIN news, OHCHR, UNHCR. And has recently participated in a full documentary on refugees in the 4 corners of the world for Arte reportage, a well-known French/German TV channel. In June 2015, she did her own exhibition entitled “Déplacés” at the French Institute in Beirut, then in October 2015 at the Beirut Photo Fair. Christina was recently awarded with an Honorable Mention at the MIFA, Moscow international Fotography Awards 2015, and an Honorable Mention for the “Untold Stories” competition of EyeEm and VII photo agency, for her latest work on Autistic children in refugee camps,
