Colin is a freelance photographer based in Tallahassee, Fla. with 30 years experience as a visual storyteller.
He brings his familiarity with people from all walks of life, the state of Florida, its news and political processes to every assignment. His clients include public relations firms, corporations, newspapers, websites and national publications.
A University of Missouri School of Journalism graduate, he worked four years as a staff photographer for the St. Joseph, Mo. News-Press/Gazette then 21 years as a staff photographer with the Tampa Tribune. He and his wife Laura have a 12-year-old son, Graham.
For 20 years of his Tribune tenure he worked from the Tallahassee bureau, covering Florida and national politics, including five national political conventions, a presidential, many gubernatorial inaugurations and the presidential recount of 2000.
Away from the Capitol, he focused on Florida State University and University of Florida athletics, photographing and coordinating coverage for numerous national football and basketball championships. He's covered two Super Bowls and was part of the Tribune's traveling coverage team for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He's covered the unique people, places and events of North Florida from oystermen, deadhead loggers, tobacco farmers, worm grunters and pretty much every hurricane since 1988.
Beyond the Tribune, his work has been published in Time, Life, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, Redbook and Good Housekeeping and others.
