My name is David Barnes and I'm currently a student at the University of Georgia working towards a degree in Mass Media Arts and a minor in Consumer Economics.
My love of visual story-telling has lead me to the University of Georgia's Visual Journalism Program where I study techniques used by photojournalists and picture/video/sound editing by creating media photo assignments.
Outside the classroom I work as a photo intern with the University of Georgia's Athletic Association where I cover NCAA games, press conferences, and conduct photo shoots with athletes and coaches. When I'm not immersed in sports photography, I also work as a staff photographer at The Red & Black student newspaper where I specialize in culture and breaking news photography. My work has also been published in my University's student run magazine, UGAzine.
As a Mass Media Arts major, I study advanced TV and film production techniques, non-linear video editing, writing for film and digital media, and lighting for TV and film. I have also worked as a production intern and production assistant for Fog Edge Media, a boutique production company contracted by the DIY Network.
