Rob McElroy
Buffalo, NY, USA
I have been a professional photographer since 1980, shooting primarily photojournalistic, corporate, commercial, advertising and magazine assignments. I have extensive photographic experience and thrive on photographic challenges both technical and creative. Being in the right place, at the right time and having the skills and artistic sensibilities to create a dynamic photograph that captures my subject at just the right moment, in just the right light, is my specialty – and the reason I love to do environmental portraits of people.
In my early years, I honed my skills working full-time shooting daily news assignments for the Associated Press and shooting sports for the NFL, all the while continuing to shoot corporate, commercial and studio assignments to gain experience in all of photography’s genres.
I have photographed in every format from 35mm to 8" x 10" and am just as comfortable with a digital camera as I am with an 8x10 piece of sheet film. I am also one of only a handful of photographers who have mastered the art of making the most difficult type of photograph, the daguerreotype; the world's first viable method of photography from the 1840s and 1850s.
If you are looking for a photographer who can deliver creative decisive-moment photographs from a fast paced event or need someone who understands lighting and can apply his lighting expertise to a challenging interior scene or subject, then I'm the photographer you need; a perfectionist by nature who delivers compelling results.
