Dani Maczynski
New York, NY, USA
I am a photojournalist based in Brooklyn, New York. My background is centralized in documentary practices, long-form investigative journalism and breaking news photography. I hold a BFA from Parsons The New School for Design. Upon graduation from Parsons, my thesis work on the underreported issue on the exportation of horses from the U.S. for human consumption was awarded the Sony Emerging Photographer's Grant for Social Engagement.
My work can be seen in the New York Daily News, Gothamist, The Momentist, Hunterdon County Democrat, Nuvo Magazine, Rolex Grand Slam Magazine and several other national and international publications.
As an avid equestrian of many years, I like to devote my talent to the sport whenever and where ever possible. I spend the majority of January through March in Wellington, Florida documenting the Winter Equestrian Festival for private clients as well as sponsors. In the summer months, I will participate where needed in the GCT Global Champions Tour that travels throughout Europe. This work can be seen in The Chronicle of The Horse, Today's Equestrian, Rolex Grand Slam Magazine, Dover Saddlery and Horse News.
In addition to assignments and personal work, I have begun donating my time and skill to one NGO in need every year. This past year I spent 2 weeks in Hanoi, Vietnam on behalf of Photographers Without Borders documenting the work of an organization called Tea Talk Vietnam which provides free mental health counselling to the local community.
I am available for hire locally or abroad.
