Facing Change: Documenting DETROIT
Detroit, MI, USA
I am an emerging Canadian artist based in Detroit, Michigan. I work largely with personal narratives, exploring my ontological relationship with home, environment, and landscape. The darkroom is my sanctuary - I have a skillful and accomplished knowledge of film and takes pride in processing and printing my own photographs whenever possible. I enjoy learning about and creating with the tactile through processes such as bookbinding, screen-printing, and letterpress. Exploring a variety of handmade processes challenges my creativity, encourages a deep understanding of craftsmanship, and diversifies my photographic practice.
My work has been exhibited internationally in New York, the UK, Sweden, and Japan.
2016 - Documenting Detroit Fellowship, 2015 - International Arts Collaborations Program, 2014 - Mobility Exchange Program, 2012 - Young Photographers Alliance Fellowship, 2009 - Selected Young Artists Scholarship
