Whether documenting voodou culture in Haiti or photographing the 2013 Tour Poster for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, David Zentz is never more at ease than when standing behind a camera shooting people and places that interest him most. A natural storyteller with a knack for putting people at ease, David began his career working as a photojournalist for newspapers including the Chicago Tribune, the St. Petersburg Times and the Associated Press. Since 2008 he has worked as an independent editorial and commercial photographer, regularly shooting for some of the top publications and companies in the world.
Some of David’s recent editorial credits include The Chronicle of Higher Education, Smithsonian Magazine, National Parks Magazine, Newsweek, Outside, The Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times. He also frequently shoots advertising and corporate work for clients, including Kyocera, Direct Energy, Target, Adobe, Panasonic, Georg Fischer and the Archery Trade Association. Whether shooting for a magazine, a commercial or an executive portrait he works with the same sensibilities that he developed in his early career in order to create natural, meaningful and compelling images of his subjects.
