Seven years ago I did not know photography would soon become my perennial passion, competing with managerial routine for my time and my mind. Back then I had just moved to the largest Russian city and bought my first camera to chronicle my environment. Revising my archive three years later, I found little value in most tentative pictures—with few exceptions, standing in stark contrast to group photos of my smiling friends and clichéd tourist stuff. I started to look for geometric abstraction surrounds me.
