Karen Sayre
Washington, DC, USA
My concentration these days is primarily event, conference and portrait photography. My work has been appeared in Politico, USA Today the Washington Post and clients include US State Dep., National Academy of Sciences, Battelle, USAID and World Bank plus a host of non profit and for profit organizations. I bring a resourceful detailed approach complimented by a calm, upbeat personality. I think I’m pretty fun to work with, yet I can be super unobtrusive in sensitive situations or high profile events. Regardless of the situation, gracious professionalism that’s me.
Born and educated in London England. Trained as a photographer in London before moving to NYC. After a few years in NYC, I moved to Boston for a long stretch before moving to Washington DC. My studio is based on Capitol Hill in the heart of Washington DC.
On a personal note!
I photograph landscapes, but only if there's people in it!! I was a street photographer and photojournalist for the first part of my career (I still think of myself as street photographer in many ways). When I travel I wander the markets and immerse myself as much as I can in the culture and flavor of wherever I am.
I've travelled a LOT but still have a huge list of places I want to go and things I want to try. The list of places I still want to go grows every year.
Passionate about wild life and preserving our planet
Love great restaurants and cooking for my friends. (Making lots of fresh pasta at the moment).
Wine Lover. (Goes without saying.)
What am I listening to ? I love all kinds of music, right now I'm in to french jazz tango fusion
What am I reading ? 'The Elegance of the Hedgehog.
