She is a documentary photographer born in Rimini (Italy) in 1976. She graduated in Environmental Sciences in 2001. She has been working as a chemist until 2009. Then in 2009/2010 she got a Master in Photojournalism at Contrasto Agency in Milan. In 2009, she started working as photojournalist and, for three years, she has been living in Algiers, where she documented the condition of women in the Algerian society. For 6 years (2012-2018), she has been based in Jakarta. The main subjects of her photographic research are long term documentary projects on environmental issues and gender issues.
Her project documenting the depletion of mangroves ecosystems in Indonesia, driven by the increasing hunger for cheap tropical shrimps in EU and USA, has been awarded Journalism Grant for Innovation in Development Reporting by European Journalism Centre in 2016. She is a member of international photo collective Women Photograph and Instagram group @everydayclimatechange.
