Emily Monaco
New York, NY, United States
Hi, I’m Emily, and I tell stories for a living. I was born and raised in New York, but in 2007, I moved to Paris, and via a series of strange events, I ended up making the French capital my permanent home. After pursuing a Masters degree in 19th century French literature – and many years of trying – I have come to the conclusion that I will likely never be French. I write about food, drink, and culture shock for various publications including The Wall Street Journal, Expedia, and Paste Magazine, as well as on my blog, Tomato Kumato. I am also a writer of fiction, and I offer guided tours of Paris’ food, wine and literary haunts. I like getting to know folks who can keep me in seasonal produce and fantastic cheese.
