Ellie Van Houtte is a strategic communicator, photographer and multimedia storyteller.
Dedicated to connecting people together, Ellie’s experiences range from documenting stories from communities across the world to providing strategic communications and social media expertise to non-profit organizations. With experience as a photojournalist and writer for local and international news outlets, Ellie is also a passionate storyteller who brings clarity to complex subjects.
In her current role as a Multimedia Storyteller at the U.S. Agency for International Development, Ellie is involved in the coordination of strategic communications for high-level USAID campaigns and events that have included the United Nations General Assembly, The White House Summit on Global Development and Humanity Acts. Ellie also produces multimedia stories for the USAID Storytelling Hub (stories.usaid.gov), Exposure and Medium, as well as edits and curates content collected by staff from around the world for distribution on web and social media channels. Additionally, She trains USAID communicators on best practices for storytelling, social media and content creation. She enjoys waking up every day with a sense of purpose and passion.
