Fatma Çelik
Diyarbakır, Turkey
Born in 1987 in Diyarbakır, she graduated from İnönü University, Department of Psychological Counselling and Guidance. Since 2009, she has been working as a counsellor in schools in Diyarbakır. She also volunteers with children and women through non-governmental organisations.
She joined NarPhotos Collective in 2012 and was a member until 2021 when the collective ended.
Her photography and video works focus on migration, identity, memory, ecology and gender. She participated in various workshops and artistic production programmes. Her works have been widely exhibited and screened at festivals in Turkey and abroad.
She recently participated in the EurasiaDoc Amed Screenwriting Workshop and is working on a feature film about Özgür Gündem Newspaper.
She has short documentary films such as 'A Securty Film', 'A Tribune Story', 'Mehla Qorê', 'Gündem' and 'Kezî'.
She lives and works in Diyarbakır. However she stays in Berlin for a few months.
She is a member of Zîn Kolektif, Vatoz Platform and PLATFORM by GAPO.
