Lindsay Ballant

Previous to this, Lindsay resided in New York City where she worked at The New York Times Magazine, Print Magazine, and most recently as design director of Newsweek, where she led the creative team for the last print issue of the magazine. Previous to this, at Print magazine she was part of an editorial team awarded back to back National Magazine Awards for General Excellence. For four years, she was an adjunct professor at her alma mater, the School of Visual Arts, leading a senior-year portfolio thesis. In 2009, she was a recipient of the Young Guns award from the Art Director’s Club, given to 50 emerging creatives from around the world. She has been invited to judge in numerous design and illustration competitions, and her work has received awards from the Society of Publication Designers, AIGA, Communication Arts, I.D. magazine, Print magazine, Step magazine, and the Type Directors Club, and her work has been published most recently in Designing News by Gestalten. She is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York with a dual major in advertising and graphic design, and lives in Washington, D.C.
