Federico Sutera

Federico Sutera was born in Venice , Italy ,on May 19th 1978. In 2003 he finished his degree in Tourism
Economics. It was during that time that he started taking photographs. In the process he realized how
perfect a medium photography was for expressing himself .
In 2005 he moved to Spain where he lived for 5 years. In 2007 he received his masters degree in
documentary photography at Efti in Madrid. During his time in Spain he carried out his first professional projects and worked for a few Spanish agencies and institutions. In 2007 he completed "Mindful Dive", his first important work that was published by Feaps and exhibited at Galileo Galilei cultural centre in Madrid.
In 2010 he moved back to Italy and is currently based in Venice. He works as free-lance photographer at
Xframe Studio which he founded in 2011 in Venice.
He works on his personal projects, with particular focus on social subjects connected to territory and
environment as well as commercial ones, and is collaborating with photo agencies such as Anzenberger
(Wien) and Contrasto (Italy).
His work has been published in magazines such as: Io Donna ( Italy ), Bauwelt ( Germany ), Geo Wissen (
Germany ), Africa ( Bergamo ), Piel de foto ( Spain ) Ville&Giardini (Mondadori, Milan) Style e Sette (
Corriere della Sera, Italy )
