Djibril Drame is a visual artist, filmmaker, curator publicist, originally from Senegal, West Africa. He has over 12 years’ experience and is known amongst industry peers as “Gadaay” (GodEye). Drame, well connected in the art world, has participated and been featured many exhibitions and competitions worldwide including Germany, Ghana, Togo, Ethiopia, Spain, and Ivory Coast.
Djibril Drame’s work strives to shed a light on socially relevant and slightly controversial issues affecting our world today including Discrimination, Religion, Race, Identity Femininity and Masculinity, always promoting Love, Peace, Balance and Understanding. Djibril’s work reflects the many aspects of Africa’s multifaceted history, and innumerable intertwined cultures, languages, stories, and lifestyles. Djibril’s work offers an alternative African narrative.
In the past few years, Djibril has also been heavily involved in film, and has released two shorts movies which have gone on to feature in festivals and art tours internationally.
Djibril has curated art shows throughout Africa and North America, including the Afro Music Festival held in Los Angeles.
Djibril is also an independent scholar with a Bachelor in Journalism, Communication and Public Relations in Dakar and earn a Certification in Arts Curatorial from International Curators Independent an organization based in New York. and pioneer in graffiti in Africa.
