Genevieve Belmaker is an award-winning journalist currently based in the Seattle area, and a Forests Editor with an international environmental news platform, Mongabay.
She has extensively reported on, photographed, and written about the regions and peoples of Israel, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, including its history and current geopolitical climate. Her Moon Handbooks travel guide book, “Jerusalem and the Holy Land,” was published in early 2014. The second edition of that book, "Israel and the West Bank" was published in November 2016. Through her work in the region, Genevieve is connected to sources and locations throughout Israel and the West Bank, both Arab and Israeli.
She has covered New York City crime and international news for the Epoch Times and CNS News. Her reporting on the journalism industry has frequently appeared in Quill (the magazine of the Society of Professional Journalists), as well as MediaShift, Images and Voices of Hope, Poynter.org, and Nieman Reports.
