Giuseppe Carotenuto was born in Pompeii on October 31, 1984. At the age of twelve he has his first approach with photography as he became a ceremony photographer. He then decides to begin his studies in photography in 2003 and ears a degree as “technician of photographic images”. In 2004, after three years of collaborations with numerous neapolitan publications he obtains the registration to the national order of journalists. From 2004 to 2007 he works as a photographer for the Italian Army's press office. Guided by a growing passion che continues his research in photojournalism and begins to propose his works to national and international publications. For two years he works for LUZ photo agency and the he decides to become a freelance covering Italy's major political, social and economic issues. He begins to focus on international themes by photographing the revolution in Tunisia, the war in Lybia, the Italian Army in Afghanistan, syrian and sudanese refugees. His most relevant features are published on L'Espresso Magazine, Vanity Fair and Stern.
