Giacomo Mignani
Milan, Italy
My big passion for photography comes from the journeys I did in the last years. To travel is good for the mind, body and soul.
After have cultivated this passion by myself, I decided to attend a photography school in Rome, la Graffiti.
Since the beginning my attention was caught by reportage and social stories. I am interested in photography that aim to inform, tell, describe and denounce, the one that originate rage and indignation but also love and hope.
I think that before shooting is necessary to know and be familiar with the reality you want to describe. I like the idea of the reporter involved in the social and cultural context. In my opinion photography is all about ethics and respect.

Biko
Giacomo Mignani
Biko, a good example of integration into the Tanzanian society (in Tanzania there still is a lot of stigmas regarding albinism). He is a teacher in the primary school in a village located in a remote area of Kigoma region, north west of the country.

Queen
Giacomo Mignani
Queen, another good example of integration into the Tanzanian society (in Tanzania there still is a lot of stigmas regarding albinism). She works as nurse in a dispensary in the suburbs of Dar es Salaam and she is a member of an organization that aims to improve social conditions of people with albinism.
In this shoot she is just having a nice time with friends on a ordinary Sunday afternoon.
