Born in Naples, Italy in 1974 After high school diploma attended a three years master in photography at the “Istituto Superiore di Fotografia” in Rome. Since March 2003 lived and worked in Africa, first as a freelance and then as a permanent staff of AFP (Agence France-Presse). From 2003 to 2005 he worked in the African Great Lakes region, covering, as a contributor to AFP, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo. He has published for all major international newspapers. In 2007 he finished second to Fujifilm Press Award with a portfolio of news on the elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo and received a special mention for a report on children accused of witchcraft always in Congo. In 2005 he was posted as AFP staff with responsibility for Southern Africa and lived in Cape Town until 2011 when he took a one year contract as photo coordinator for Libya. Since the end of 2009, along with 5 other photographers, some of his work on Angola was part of a traveling exhibition entitled El Tiempo del Diablo, in 2010 part of his ongoing project “A Minor ballad” was exhibited at the Atri Festival for photojournalism, some of his pictures are part of a traveling exhibition “Good Morning Africa“ realized by Africa Magazine to celebrate its 90th anniversary.
