Giulia has spent almost seven years roaming China as a photojournalist, and was previously based in Cairo, Paris, Cotonou and Ouagadougou. She is a contributor to The New York Times, and her clients include also National Geographic Traveller UK, The Financial Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, M le Magazine du Monde and many others. Giulia has covered stories such as the plight of human rights lawyers in China for The New York Times Magazine, domestic violence for The Washington Post and the Muslim Sisterhood in Egypt for The Financial Times Magazine. She won a SOPA Award for excellence in investigative reporting and a Human Rights Press Award as part of The Wall Street Journal team for a story about surveillance in Xinjiang. Giulia is now in Seoul.
