Guilherme Gerais

Guilherme Gerais ( 1987 ) is a photographer and cinematographer from Brazil, graduated in Visual Arts . Among his works stands out the photobook Intergalático, self published by Avalanche, launched at Paris Photo in 2014. The work was selected as one of the best books of 2014 in PhotoEye and since then has participated in some photo festivals including; Encontros da Imagem - Portugal, Fotografia Europea - Italy, Big Pictures - Cincinnati Art Museum - USA, Tiradentes PhotoFestival - Brazil and Lisbon's PhotoBook Fair- Portugal. In 2015 he won the prize for Best Photographic Work at Paraty in Focus, the most important photographic festival in Brazil and was selected to publish at the anniversary issue of GUP Magazine, a dutch photographic publication. In 2016 Intergalático was invited to join the exhibition CLAP - 10x10 Photobooks on Latin America and was published in the germany magazine DER GREIF and the japanese magazine CONTACT HIGH ZINE. Also, in 2016, the photographer will start his MFA in Photography at The School of Arts Gent, Belgium.
