After studying a journalism degree I started a photography course but decided that it was more important for me to understand, as much as I could, what I was photographing and the systems in which this world works, so I pursued a master's in International Development whilst continuing to hone my skills.S ince then I have been a diverse practitioner specialising in reportage, wildlife and humanitarian photography and filmmaking. My work has covered a wide range of issues and events across the globe and has been used in a variety of magazines and newspapers including the Telegraph, Daily Mail and Wall Street Journal and on Channel 4, BBC and ITV. I have also worked with many NGO’s including Cultural Survival (indigenous rights), the British Youth Council (youth empowerment) and Friends of the Earth (environment) creating campaign films and photography.
Alongside my journalism work I train communities and individuals in story telling through media empowerment workshops. More information is available at www.citizencamera.com.
I am represented by Zuma Press and currently based between the UK and SE Asia and available for assignment.
