I am a Melbourne based documentary & portrait photographer and visual storyteller.
Much of my work takes an in-depth look at issues related to the marginalised and disenfranchised, particularly in developing countries. Increasingly my work has focussed on the issue of identity. From the very broad sense of national identity through to deeply individual concept of personal identity, particularly for people in the face of difficult and de-humanising situations such as refugees.
My background is finance and economics, having worked in the city of London for six years as a trader after graduating from university. Disillusioned by the many injustices that surrounded me, I decided to leave to follow my passion for photography, writing and social causes.
I now hold a Masters in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism from the University of Westminster. I have worked with a number of local and international NGO's for many years, dealing with, amongst other issues: domestic and sexual violence against women; homelessness; sex trafficking and disaster relief aid.
