I was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1964. I have a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Minnesota and an MFA in Documentary Photojournalism from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I've lived in Houston since 2000 where I am a commercial and editorial photographer and have been teaching photography classes at Rice University's School of Continuing Studies since 2008. My work has appeared in TIME, Newsweek, The Atlantic, VICE, the BBC Newshour, the PBS Newshour etc and has been collected by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Phoenix Art Museum, The Fort Wayne Museum of Art and The Ramones Museum in Berlin.
