Originally from Pennsylvania, I'm currently based in Nairobi, Kenya, where I'm completing a series of social documentary photography projects on the themes of unity and youth re-education via sports and art. Recently, my coverage of events surrounding the terrorist attack on Westgate Shopping Mall and the Kenyan elections have appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, The Times, Le Journal du Dimanche, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, the BBC, The New African, YahooNews, and CNN.com. I regularly work on communications photo assignments for UNICEF and various NGOs such as Oxfam, Adeso, and VSF. At A River Blue in Northern Uganda, I created a photography and art workshop for young adults displaced by the conflict with the Lord's Resistance Army; resulting in a photo mural and paintings of images from their dreams. Previously, I lived in Paris for 10 years, working as a photographer, teaching photography with the Oxbridge Program, and coordinating photography programs for the Maine Media Workshops.
