Ian is a staff photographer at The Everett Herald daily newspaper in Everett, Washington as well as an editorial freelance photographer around the Pacific Northwest.
His work has been printed in publications including The New York Times, The Houston Chronicle, The Seattle Times, The Everett Herald, The Corpus Christi Caller-Times, The Victoria Advocate, Progressive Magazine, The Common Language Project, The Seattle Globalist as well as the Austrian publication, Sportmagazin.
Ian's photographic adventures include attending history's largest ever gathering of people at the 2013 Maha Kumbh Mela in India, witnessing ethnic tensions between Buddhists and Muslims in Myanmar's coastal Rakhine State, roaming the streets of Copenhagen and Oslo in search of a visual representation of a social phenomenon dubbed "Jante Law", tagging along with oyster fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico and covering a season of high school sports' pinnacle; small town Texas football.
When he's not behind a camera, Ian can be found riding his mountain bike, fiddling around on an electric guitar or listening to the music of Frank Zappa.
He is currently accepting multimedia and photographic assignments in the Pacific Northwest.
