Janet Fitzgerald
Burke, VA, United States
Janet Fitzgerald is a single mother, journalist, writer, creative person, and for more than 15 years, a special agent for the Bureau of Diplomatic Security at the U.S. Department of State. As a Foreign Service special agent, she has been required to serve our country in conflict/war zones and critical threat environments, as well as working as a criminal investigator. To maintain life balance and reduce stress, she began taking acting classes, TV production classes, digital editing classes, and volunteering on local independent film projects. Janet then began writing a travel column in 2011 for examiner.com, but switched to writing a film column in 2012, because she realized the independent film makers she was working with did not know how to promote themselves or their projects. Thus began her writing journey, which continues to this day. Janet believes any creative endeavor contributes positively to society. She gains inspiration from the creative people she has been honored to work with and those she has interviewed. Janet currently resides in the Washington D.C. metro area with her son and two large playful dogs.
