As a native Acehnese, since he was small, Jb (his nickname) has always collected pictures of nature that he got from magazines, newspapers, stamps, book covers and others for clipping. JB always wanted to see more of the beauty of nature from different angles.
After the 2004 Aceh Tsunami, with the opening of access from the outside to Aceh, which at that time was also in conflict with Indonesia, Jb saw the best way to collect pictures of nature was to document them through photos, especially at that time Aceh which has one of the tropical rainforests heritage in the world known as Leuser, is still lacking in visual documentation.
In 2005, Jb became a volunteer at an international conservation organization, namely Fauna & Flora International and finally became a staff member in 2006, this is where everything materialized and the visual adventure began. Working under the education and awareness division, Jb learned a lot about how to document nature as teaching material. Nature and Culture has become a genre from his photographs to this day which still aims to evoke a sense of care and love to act in protecting nature and the environment.
