Gaillard, France
French photographer, born in 1987.
He studied at the Estienne school (graphic arts) and at the Vevey school (photography).
He started with photojournalism work, then he developed a narrative and a representative approach based on a text/picture interdependence. A picture can’t say it all, its visual power may hide the information. Pictures are also metaphorical material, they can support a testimony without being directly linked to it or depicting it but instead, being allegorical.
He works mainly in confirmed situations, of crisis or in the process of long term acceptance, such as places of extreme poverty, in periphery of war zones and their more vast consequences.

From "Maybe it will be the end of suffering"
SAINT-PEYRE Jérémy
In a refugee house, Schleswig-Holstein province, northern Germany.
«I was studying. I did nothing until I joined Sham Network. I decided to join them because I was tired of watching people dying , I choose them because they were strong enough for my protection, ISIS was rising. I was injured by mortar shell. It was in summer 2013, a big offensive was happening in Latakia countryside against regime forces, I was reporting on it. My name is Tarek, I’m 21. I have one little sister, she is with my parents, they are okay.»
