from series Analogue in Focus
In an age of strong digital photographic presence there has been a renewed interest in traditional analogue processes. I met three members of the Amersham Photographic Society in Buckinghamshire whose practices are firmly based in traditional analogue techniques. Their studios are an Aladdin's cave of traditional photographic equipment over-flowing with negatives, printing tools and prints. Armed with 5 x 4 and 35 mm film cameras I set about recording these traditional ways of photographic practice that are still very current today.
from series Travellers: New Sights
This project was birthed in reaction to the concentrated levels of media interest in gypsy and traveller sites in 2012. This series aims to give an objective viewpoint into the proposal for a Gypsy and Traveller site near West Stafford, a small village in West Dorset. It documents the opinions of some of the residents of West Stafford regarding the proposal. A New Age Travellers site, although not linked to the proposal near West Stafford, also features within the book due to its close proximity to the village, gives an insight into the lives of Travellers. This series aims to give a fair representation of all parties concerned.
