After studies in journalism and experience in publishing Jean-Matthieu travelled 6 years in South East Asia for the magazine of an NGO for which he also directed two webdocumentaries.
In 2014, he created the quarterly photoreproduction magazine "EPIC-stories" and joined the photo agency CIRIC, a specialist in religious issues and subsidiary of the Bayard Presse group - as photo editor.
As a photographer, he alternates personal projects - in a documentary and aesthetic approach - and commissions for the press, institutions or companies. Since 2014, he focuses on the situation of Christian minorities affected by the wars in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and Syria.
His work appears regularly in the press: Le Pèlerin, Elle, 6Mois, Le Figaro, Le Figaro Magazine, Le Point, La Croix, La Vie, ... His latest reports have recently taken him to the Central African Republic, Lebanon, Syria (Raqqa), Panama...
Jean-Matthieu is based between Saint Malo and Paris, fluent in English, mobile and vaccinated against yellow fever.

Refugee in Myitkyina - Burma

Myitkyina, capital of Kachin State, northern Myanmar. 30,000 villagers took refuge in various IDP camps (Internally displaced persons) scattered around the city - and now count over 100 000 refugees in the all Kachin state. Most are villagers who have fled the fights between the Kachin army (KIA) and the Burmese army, the powerful Tatmadaw, since the cease-fire of June 2011. All have at least one close relation engaged in the conflict, wounded or dead...
