Jocelen Janon
Auckland, New Zealand
I was born in Champagne, France.
My parents' house was next to a huge chalk quarry which was used as a tip: this is where I spent my childhood.
I learned how to burn tires, make spears out of construction material and a luge out of a Renault 5 bumper.
Then I was introduced to photography at the Youth and People Education House, thanks to a proto-communist France.
Later on, I received an Fine Arts Degree and even later a Master in IT.
In 2000, I moved to New Zealand where I am a full time photographer.
Which is nice.
I am interested in recording change and continuity in society.
