John is considered one of America’s premier television storytellers. His work has been recognized as some of the best in the business. Winning more than 300 local, regional, and national awards, John is the first three-time winner of television’s top award for photojournalism, the National Press Photographers Association’s Television News Photographer of the Year. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Joseph A. Sprague Memorial Award, considered amongst the highest recognition a television photojournalist can receive.
John is widely recognized for his storytelling skills and for his ability to capture great sound and pictures. His honors, which include 12 Emmy awards, have been granted for all kinds of stories, from spot news and features to sports and documentaries. In addition to winning the Television News Photographer of the Year title three consecutive years, John has finished runner-up three times.
