Mexico,Sagittarious, 1984. Visual Artist Jose Espínola works in both still and motion photography as well as paper-cut collage. He directs and produces video & photo, developing creative projects for brands, editorial publications as well as collaborations with designers and visual artists at Brutal Inc a multidisciplinary studio which he founded in 2010.
Jose Academyc backgropund in Communications combined with a Degree in Graphic Design and Art Direction, had lead him to find a strong visual aesthetic that smooths between Documentary and Fine Art Photography.
In he´s work he use the raw immediacy of the images as a cognitive tool, exploring the corelation between erotism, fashion and the social enviroment. Using collective signifires -memories, to create compositions that creates strong imagery that reflects society and ourselfs.
Driven to find stories where does not seems to be one, with a solid vision of aesthetics. Jose stablish some kind of mutual undersanding with his subjects and the atmospheres with captivating emphaty, hunting the public intimacy, evocating the private, and empowering genuine sexuality with fashion.
Between producing personal projects and often diverse asignaments , he's working now in he's firts full lenght documentary.

Jose Espínola
Mexico City has to many faces, so many stories that had an imprint in their lifes, and at the same time have a huge impact on their faces. Non-Residents explores the huge amount of people passing by without any apparent reason in a small street in Downtown Mexico city. Different faces, cultures, races, backgrounds, traumas, desires and broken dreams, gathering all at the same time in the same place. This portraits represents the base of the economic pyramid in Mexico; the poor, outcasted, homeless, non-residens, the marginal, people that has been working all their lives to survive and just those who call home, the street.
