James Raymond

James Raymond is a L.A. based artist and production sound mixer. After Graduating from Calarts, he created the short movie STIHL, with renowned video artist James Benning. The movie traveled the festival circuit and was accepted into festivals such as Slamdance and the San Francisco international film festival. At the same time he worked for the Oscar winning documentary team Video Verite. He has recorded sound for a handful of projects including the HBO doc Toe Tag Parole, a movie that follows the daily life of men serving life without parole within a maximum-security prison. He recently finished recording sound for a new discovery channel series about the Los Angeles drought. Outside of sound James continues to direct videos and has collaborated on music videos with LA based punk bands Together Pangea and No Parents. His two most recent short movies Electric Demon and Purple Barn screened at the Los Angeles art gallery Human Resources. He currently lives in Highland Park and works as a freelance sound mixer.
