John Surico

John Surico is a freelance journalist, based in Queens, New York. He was born and raised on Long Island, and studied journalism and politics at New York University. His work primarily focuses on criminal justice issues, class, urban living, and how we collectively cope with our political system. He has also reported abroad in Brazil, Cuba, and Sweden, and can speak Italian and Portuguese conversationally. He shoots with a Nikon D3100 DSLR.
