Julien Masson

Photographer and filmmaker, Julien Masson was born in 1986. Based in Savoie (France) where he is from, he also works a lot in foreign countries particularly in Africa. His work turns around the links between France and Africa, but is also interested in social, political, environmental issues.
In 2015, he broadcasts his first documentary « Africa’s Voices » which talks about engaged and militants artists in francophone’s areas in Africa. In 2016, he broadcasts his second documentary « Mémoire en marche » which traces the Africans soldiers’s history during the Second World War (a documentary movie for TV5, multimedia report for RFI, an exhibition and a book.)
Today, he’s collaborating with different media (RFI, Courrier d’Atlas, Le Monde, Paris Match etc.) and makes movies (Yallah ! Au bout de la Vanoise, Tirailleurs de N’Dar etc.)
Alongside that, Julien is a co director of the association les ouvriers de l’image, which carries out pedagogical, artistic and sociocultural projects about the different types of documentaries.
