Joe Van Eeckhout

Joe Van Eeckhout is a photographer and documentary filmmaker, originally from the Pacific Northwest of the United States, currently based in Nairobi, Kenya.
His work primarily follows social and environmental issues with interests that include climate change, conflict, and exploring new forms of visual storytelling. He is often drawn to stories of the evolving relationship between humans and land. He holds a Masters in New Media Photojournalism from the Corcoran School of Arts + Design at the George Washington University.
He has worked with AFP in Washington as a Multimedia Intern and most recently worked as an editor and videographer for GoodFight Media, creating content for a variety of clients including USAID, Ogilvy, Ashoka, and ESPN. Other content has been featured on VICE Motherboard, OZY Media, The Economist, and Rumptly TV.
He is a member of the documentary collective, DISCOURSE, Frontline Freelance Register, and the NPPA.
