Hello, I'm Kai.
I'm a studied photographer and photojournalist, videographer, photo editor, creative director and digital media professional.
I am passionate about stories, people, arts, producing, creative thinking and creating. I like to get to know people, and tell their stories or work together with them on emotional storytelling in new media concepts to reach a wide and/or web based audience.
In the past 10 years I have been working as a professional photographer in Europe, in the U.S. and, for certain stories, worldwide.
This also includes editing photos for editorial use in magazines and newspapers, as well as for my photo agency and blogs and websites.
The internet will be more and more become our source for information, arts and entertainment and I use it to connect with a demographic audience through my photography, video, links and writing.
I started studying photography at the University of applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover, Germany in 2003 and received my diploma degree with excellence.
I first began to work as a photographer right in my first year of studying Photography in 2003 and became a professional freelance photojournalist in 2005.
I was a staff photographer for one of the biggest and reknown newspapers of Germany (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung) in 2007.
In 2010 I became a full member of the LAIF photo agency.
I am also a contributing photographer of the photo agency REDUX Pictures in New York.
I have worked for several daily newspapers, weekly newspapers and magazines and I am continuing my work on perosnal projects, documentaries, editorials, feautures, interviews and portraits.
I am the founder of Light Club, a photography workshop in New York.
I am also the founder of 'Unseen NY', a New York street photography blog connecting writing and photography •
