Kate Robertson
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Kate is interested in working in the 'between space' of contemporary art and ethnography, in order to explore the inner workings of community and lived experience. Her photographic work has been exhibited in Australia, New Zealand and Germany.
In January 2015 she will be travelling to Bougainville (Papua New Guinea) to document spiritual and medicinal plants in the Siwai province. Kate will also begin to document the Kavarong River, which historically has had spiritual significance for local communities. Now the river is a poisonous iridescent blue as a consequence of the Panguna Mine waste overflow.
