Kate Vredevoogd
Granada, Granada, Spain
Kate Vredevoogd is a Southern Spain-based photographer, writer and storyteller who is currently focusing on event, documentary and fine art photography in Andalucía, specifically Granada, but is available for assignments anywhere on the globe. She also does a lot of travel and tourism work abroad. She has a very natural approach to her work, letting the model control the energy, which allows her to create unique and authentic images. She studied photography in Photographic Center Northwest in Seattle and completed two bachelor’s degrees at Western Washington University. When making photographs she is attracted to images that speak to dichotomies of emotion, subtle expressions, and vast spaces; outside and within.

Flamenco Hands
Kate Vredevoogd
This is from a series I did that combined Flamenco culture with nature and landscapes of Andalusia. So often we see Flamenco portrayed in a very contrived way, in tourist bars and commercialized, but I wanted to connect it to its roots, to the earth, and show its severity and intensity.
