Kris Connor is an award winning celebrity portrait and reportage photographer that splits his time between Washington DC and New York City. "I enjoy photographing extraordinary people in extraordinary circumstances," says Kris.
His projects "Equals on the Water" and "Dawson" focus on the humanity of his subjects. “Being born with Achondroplasia(a type of dwarfism), I had to learn to adapt to the world around me. When I was a teenager, I decided to have limb lengthening. Documenting Dawson going through the same operations I did is a way for me to look back into the mirror of my childhood."
In 2010 he served as personal photographer to the Prime Minister of Denmark on a trip to Washington DC to meet with the President of the United States.
He attended the 64th Missouri Photo Workshop in the fall of 2012 in Troy, Missouri where he premiered “Aiming for Public Office,” about Beverly Steiniger, a first-time candidate running under the Republican ticket for the Missouri House of Representatives. The story took second place in the Campaign Picture Story category of the 2013 White House News Photographers Association Inaugural National Eyes of History Contest.
