Originally from Vancouver Island, I wandered through the wilds of NWT and the Yukon for many years before the lure of the big city grabbed hold. I landed a job at the Toronto Star photographing events around the world for 19 years winning a National Newspaper Award for Sports Photography. I was also nominated and won two more NNA’s for his project work. I was the Assistant Managing Editor, Photography and Multimedia for over five years before leaving the Star in 2010. Currently a judge with the NNA and avid volunteer for Canadian Journalists for Free Expression mixed with travel and grandchildren.
