Keith Taylor
London, United Kingdom
I’m a photographer and printmaker, born in Bromley, England, but since 1996 I’ve been living in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
As well as exhibiting my own work, I offer custom hand-processing and printing for other photographers across the US and Europe.
MY PHOTOGRAPHY
My photography has been widely exhibited in galleries across the US and the UK, I’m a three-time recipient of Individual Artist Fellowships from the Minnesota State Arts Board, and my photographs are held in many private and corporate collections. In 2011 I was awarded a Minnesota Center for Book Arts/Jerome Foundation mentorship.
PRINTING SERVICES
Besides working on my own photography, I also print for other photographers. I started my career as a black and white printer in London printing advertising, fashion and editorial images for photographers. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s I was one of a handful of printers in London who specialized in printing exhibitions and portfolios, and for producing prints that won numerous awards from the Association of Photographers, the British Picture Editors’ Awards and the Ilford Photographic Awards.
ALTERNATIVE PROCESSES
It was while I was still in London that I became increasingly interested in the historical, or alternative, processes. Then, in 1996, I emigrated to the United States, to Minneapolis. Since then I’ve specialised in platinum-palladium, polymer-photogravure, gelatin-silver and 3-colour gum dichromate prints, both for my own work and for those clients I still work with across the US, the UK and Europe.
As well as providing a printing service for others I also write for photographic publications and give talks and workshops on those same historical processes.
