Kim Haughton is a multi award winning photographer based in New York. Originally from Ireland, she is the first recipient of the PPAI Photojournalism grant and has been awarded a number of bursaries in order to highlight humanitarian issues in developing Countries. As well as her photojournalism work for National and International publications, she works collaboratively with NGO’s on fundraising projects. She studied photography at D.I.T and completed an MA in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism at the University of the Arts in London in 2013. Her image of horses outside an abandoned house became an iconic representation of Ireland’s economic collapse and was chosen as one of eleven images to feature in the Guardian’s “History of Europe In Pictures 1945-2011”.
