Kirsten is a freelance photographer based in Denver, CO. She is currently working on several projects emphasizing the human condition of marginalized groups and individuals such as abuse victims, veterans, the LGBTQIA+ community and survivors of the Nepal earthquakes. Kirsten's first photo story, about a triple amputee veteran and his wife as they pursued IVF to start a family, was published in the New York Times Lens Blog as well as internationally in Stern. In 2017 Kirsten was selected for the New York Times Portfolio Review, Eddie Adams Workshop XXX and one of 11 emerging photographers to be showcased at Photoville. Kirsten also assisted on the documentary film, Hondros, about the late photojournalist Chris Hondros, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2017.
