Koral Carballo ( b. Veracruz, Mexico in 1987) Explores recurrently new visual narratives related to identity, violence, and territory, in addition to expanding the frontiers of photography from journalism, the visual arts and the documentary. Among her recognitions are winner of the Women Photograph+ Getty Images 2019 Grant, Moving Walls 25 Open Society Foundation 2018 prize, first place in the portfolio review of the Latin American Photography Colloquium organized by the Cuatro Caminos Museum Photo in Mexico in 2017, selected in the Biennial of the Center of the Image in Mexico 2018, nominated to participate in the Joop Swart Masterclass World Press Photo representing Mexico and Central America in the years 2016 and 2018.
She has received the Moving Walls 25 Grant from the Open Society Foundation 2018 - 2020, Adelante Grant & fellow Women 's Media Foundation (IWMF) in 2017 and 2018, the Leica M Loan Program with LFI Fotografie International in 2017 and the Young Creators National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) fellow in the period 2018-2019 and 2015- 2016 in the photography category.
