Lathan Goumas is an editorial and portrait photographer based in the Washington, D.C. metro area and central Virginia. He grew up in coastal Virginia where he developed a love of the ocean and the outdoors. After studying Marine Biology at the University of North Carolina - Wilmington Lathan moved to Alaska to work as a marine guide and naturalist. It was here that his love for sharing stories and photography began to blossom. After several years working in Alaska, Lathan returned to the southeast where he began to hone his photography skills. He attended Boston University to study journalism. After leaving graduate school Lathan worked at newspapers in Michigan, Illinois and Virginia. Lathan is available for independent and contract work.
