Alexander Strecker
LensCulture
Paris, France
As the managing editor of LensCulture, Alexander shapes the site's daily mix of features, interviews, book reviews and video content—all of which reaches a global monthly audience of 1.5 million photography lovers. He also manages the site's vibrant Instagram feed, which has grown to over 240,000 followers since January 2015. One particular pleasure has been producing LensCulture's recent written and video interviews with photographers. These interviews have been conducted all over the world — in studios, at festivals and online — with some of the world’s most accomplished image-makers.
Besides his editorial work, Alexander has helped organize international photography exhibitions in such cities as London, Barcelona and San Francisco. He has also covered prominent festivals and exhibitions around the world and attended numerous portfolio reviews. He is comfortable reviewing in English or Greek, and could speak French if necessary.
Alexander is interested in all kinds of photography — from in-depth, multi-faceted documentary storytelling to portraits, fine art and conceptual work. Unusual/unconventional methods or mediums are more than welcome. In short, Alexander is interested in discovering anyone displaying fluency and originality in the language of photography.
